The global health crisis caused by the COVID-19 virus is having important economic consequences that make it necessary to update the Treasury's financing needs. In particular, The Government has implemented different measures to alleviate the economic and social consequences of this crisis. These measures involve higher costs than those anticipated by the State at the beginning of the year, to which we must add lower income as a result of the economic contraction.

01 Jan The Government eliminates limitations on telephone number portability in the event of a change of operator

The Council of Ministers has approved today the elimination of the limitations on users to change operators while keeping their telephone number, what is known as portability. This restriction was adopted in an extraordinary situation and its objective was to contribute to facing the COVID-19 health crisis., limiting physical travel, both the user and the technicians of the telecommunications companies.

01 Jan The Government authorizes the national guarantees required for the implementation of the European unemployment support mechanism (SURE).

Spanish self-employed workers and companies have received a total of 420.717 loans in the amount of 53.610 million euros guaranteed with the Guarantee Line approved by the Government to guarantee liquidity, maintain the productive fabric and guarantee employment.
