Las medidas de protección para los deudores hipotecarios vulnerables puestas en marcha en 2012 han beneficiado a cerca de 88.000 familias. Entre ellas, el Código de Buenas Prácticas (CBP) ha permitido que 51.071 beneficiarios (hasta octubre de este año) hayan reestructurado su deuda hipotecaria. En los casi seis años de vigencia del CBP se han realizado 43.607 reestructuraciones viables, 7.456 daciones en pago y 8 quitas. Por su lado, el Fondo Social de Viviendas (FSV) ha permitido la realización de más de 9.000 contratos de alquiler (cierre de 2016) y la moratoria hipotecaria ha propiciado la suspensión de más de 27.800 desahucios (hasta diciembre de 2017).

Las exportaciones españolas de mercancías en el periodo enero-octubre aumentaron un 9,3% respecto al mismo periodo del año anterior y alcanzaron los 229.801 millones de euros, máximo histórico de la serie para el acumulado en este periodo. Las importaciones subieron un 11,3%, hasta los 250.873 million. Como resultado, el déficit comercial de los diez primeros meses del año alcanzó los 21.073 millones de euros, a 39,9% superior al registrado en el mismo periodo de 2016, aunque es el tercer mejor saldo registrado en el acumulado de los diez primeros meses del año desde 1998, sólo superado en 2013 and 2016. Las exportaciones españolas registraron mejor evolución que las del conjunto de la zona euro y la Unión Europea.

El Consejo de Ministros ha nombrado hoy a la investigadora Rosa Menéndez (Cudillero, Asturias, 1956) nueva presidenta del Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC). Química y experta en materiales de carbono, sustituye al también investigador del CSIC Emilio Lora-Tamayo, que llevaba en el cargo desde enero de 2012.
Menéndez entró a formar parte del organismo en el año 1979 y ha ocupado los cargos de vicepresidenta, delegada institucional Asturias y directora del Instituto Nacional del Carbón, ubicado en Oviedo.
