27 Jul Retail sales in the Canary Islands increased in June 2023 a 7,2% over the same month of 2022

superada por Baleares (14,4%), Madrid (11,7%) y Cataluña (8,4%). On the other side, the minors
variations occurred in Castilla y León (0,9%), Estremadura (1,8%) and Murcia (2,4%). Attending
to the evolution of sales by groups in the Canary Islands, subieron un 2,0% en alimentación y un 18,0% en
the rest.

Por su parte, employment in Canarian retail trade has increased by 2,8% in the last twelve
meses, while at the national level it has increased 2,0%. En este concepto, Canarias está posicionada
in fourth position among the group of autonomous communities and cities, surpassed by the
Comunidad Valenciana (3,8%), Baleares (3,6%) y Cataluña (3,4%), while the lower rates of
variation has occurred in Asturias (-1,3%), Ceuta (-0,8%) and Navarre (-0,4%).

27 Jul The number of employed people in the Canary Islands increases by 2,2% en el segundo trimestre de 2023

27.600 (5,3%) while the number of employed women fell by 5.700 (-1,2%).

The number of salaried people increased by 23.400 people, leaving the figure at 848.300, mientras
that the group of self-employed people barely fell one 1% regarding the quarter
previous position in 150.800 people

The number of salaried people with a permanent contract rose by 5,5% and that of people with
temporary contract went down 7,5%. It stands out that in 12 months there is a 18,2% more than people with a contract
indefinite and a 28,7% fewer people with temporary contracts.

The temporary employment rate fell 2,1 points remaining in the 18,4%, being for men of the 16,5% and for
women of 20,6%.

Employment increased in all economic sectors compared to the previous quarter, being this
rise of 18,1% under construction, 5,6% en industria, 32,8% in agriculture and 0,4% in services.

The number of unemployed people decreased 22.700 respecto al primer trimestre de 2023, being the rate of
quarterly variation of -11,2%. Unemployment decreased more in men than in women, being the rates
quarterly variation -16,4% and -6,3%. The unemployment rate drops almost 2 points and is located in the 15,3%,
siendo la de hombres un 13% y la de mujeres un 17,8%.

The number of households with an active member is 702.800, having the 78,5% of the same to all
your assets with employment and the 9,1% to all its unemployed assets, situation that improves that of the quarter
anterior.
