27 Sea Las ventas al por menor en Canarias aumentaron un 6,0% en febrero de 2024 con respecto al mismo mes de 2023

second only to Andalusia (7,4%) y Cantabria (7,1%). On the other side, the slightest variations
produced in Murcia (2,0%), Castile and León (2,5%) and Galicia (2,8%). Taking into account the evolution of
sales by groups in the Canary Islands, these went up a 9,5% en alimentación y un 5,6% en el resto.
Por su parte, employment in Canarian retail trade has increased by 2,5% in the last twelve
meses, while at the national level it has increased 2,1%. En este concepto, Canarias está posicionada
in third position among the group of autonomous communities and cities, surpassed by Madrid
(5,8%) and Andalusia (2,7%), while the lowest variation rates have occurred in La Rioja
(-1,3%), Estremadura (-0,7%) and Melilla (-0,5%).
