The International Monetary Fund (FMI) today published the update of its growth forecasts for the world economy, with an upward revision of two tenths of growth in Spain in 2019 compared to the spring forecasts published in April. The IMF foresees a growth in the GDP of our country of 2,3% en 2019 y del 1,9% en 2020.

The Council of Ministers has today approved the granting of aid to finance pilot projects based on 5G mobile technology. En concreto, the Ministry of Economy and Business, through the public company Red.es, will contribute up to 45 million euros for the development of a maximum of eleven projects.

The Secretary of State for Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence, attached to the Third Vice-Presidency of the Government and Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation, has driven, in collaboration with the National Institute of Statistics (INE), a mobility study to analyze anonymous and aggregate data on population movements for the duration of the health emergency and for the time necessary until normality is restored, to contribute to more efficient decision making based on data.

The National Statistics Institute (INE) has certified that the Spanish economy accelerated in the first quarter of the year, registering growth in the Gross Domestic Product (START) compared to the previous quarter of 0,7%. This quarter-on-quarter growth rate is one tenth higher than that of the fourth quarter of 2018.
