23 Dec The eastern islands suffered the largest drops in GDP during the year 2020

of GDP by provinces of Spain. These figures show the impact that the COVID-19 pandemic
had on the islands' economy. En 2020 The Canary Islands suffered a fall of 18,2 % of the Internal Product
Gross (START), in nominal terms, the second worst record by autonomous communities after
the Balearic Islands.
The two easternmost islands were the ones that experienced the greatest decrease. The island with the largest
decline in economic activity during the year 2020 It was Fuerteventura, with a decrease in 25,9
