By Instituto Canario de Estadística, (ISTAC), del Gobierno de Canarias El 90,7% of the visits were made for holidays, leisure and entertainment, a 2,5% for business and
professional reasons, y un 6,8% for other personal reasons such as visiting family or friends,
education, health reasons, etc.
The tourist stayed mainly in collective establishments (Hotels 62,5%, apartments 16% and
other collective accommodation 6,5%). They also stayed in private accommodation, as a home or
room rented to a private person (7%) or homes of family or friends, in property or others
private accommodations (8%).
The average stay of tourists is 8,97 days. The longest average stay was made by residents
in Belgium, con 11,89 days, followed by residents in the Nordic Countries, con 11,5 days and
It was the residents in the rest of the national territory who had the shortest stay
media, con 5,96 days.
El 67,8% of tourists have previously visited the Canary Islands. The average satisfaction rating
general of the trip to the Canary Islands is 8,90.
