05 Jun Lanzarote and Fuerteventura, the islands with the lowest rate of job seekers registered in the Canary Islands in 2022
By Instituto Canario de Estadística, (ISTAC), del Gobierno de Canarias EPA-Reg collects and analyzes employment data, unemployment and other indicators related to
the active population registered in the Canary Islands on a suburban scale, like the claimant rate
of municipal employment and the rate of youth job seekers, the basic indicators of the number
of employed and unemployed and the temporary employment rate, among others.
In an analysis by municipalities, el listado de las cinco menores tasas de demandantes de empleo
registered are located in Lanzarote and Fuerteventura. Yaiza, in Lanzarote, es el municipio que
has the lowest rate (8,5%), seguido de Teguise (9,4%), Bird (9,7%), Aunts (10,2%) y San
Bartolomé (10, 3%). Por el contrario, municipios de Tenerife, Gran Canaria y La Palma registran las
cinco mayores tasas de demandantes de empleo registrados. Icod de los Vinos (22,7%) es el municipio
que cuenta con la mayor tasa, followed by Moya (22,4%), La Aldea de San Nicolás (22,3%), La Victoria
de Acentejo (22,1%) y Garafía (21,9%).
This statistic also incorporates additional variables related to the active population, el
activity sector, the employment situation (employed or self-employed), the duration of the
contract, working hours and duration of unemployment, which provides more insight
complete of the employment situation of our community.
The Registered Active Population Statistics is an operation that was published for the first time in
2021, fruit of collaboration with the Canarian Employment Service, and offers submunicipal data,
municipal, island and autonomous regions georeferenced from 2011.
