02 Oct Registered unemployment falls in September 2025
By Instituto Canario de Estadística, (ISTAC), del Gobierno de Canarias Registered unemployment fell in men and women. By age groups, the largest percentage decrease
occurred in the age group of 30 a 34 years old, with a rate of -7,4%. The only increase in unemployment
by age occurred in those under 25 years old, with a rate of 5,6%.
All economic sectors improved with respect to registered unemployment, with drop percentages that
they go from the 2,3% under construction at 4,8% in agriculture. However, the group of people without
previous job went up 3%. With the beginning of the school year, in education, the drop in unemployment
recorded was from 24,4%. Hospitality and commerce also improved, showing decreases in
stoppage of 1,6% and 2,7%, respectivamente. Por islas, registered unemployment fell in all of them, except in
El Hierro, where unemployment remained at similar figures to those of August.
