02 Sep Registered unemployment drops in August 2025
By Instituto Canario de Estadística, (ISTAC), del Gobierno de Canarias Registered unemployment fell in men and women. By age groups, the largest percentage decrease
occurred in the age group of 40 a 44 years old, with a rate of -1,6%, and the greatest increase is
occurred in minors 25 years old, with a rate of 1,6%.
All economic sectors improved with respect to registered unemployment, except industry, where the
unemployment rose a 0,1%. The group of people without previous employment decreased by 1,5%. In hospitality the
unemployment went down a 1,2% compared to July, and in education it increased 1,4%. Por islas, the registered unemployment
went down in all of them, except in El Hierro, where unemployment increased 5,9%.
