27 Jul The number of employed people in the Canary Islands increases by 2,2% en el segundo trimestre de 2023
By Instituto Canario de Estadística, (ISTAC), del Gobierno de Canarias Por sexos, Employment rose for men but fell for women. The number of employed men increased by
27.600 (5,3%) while the number of employed women fell by 5.700 (-1,2%).
The number of salaried people increased by 23.400 people, leaving the figure at 848.300, mientras
that the group of self-employed people barely fell one 1% regarding the quarter
previous position in 150.800 people
The number of salaried people with a permanent contract rose by 5,5% and that of people with
temporary contract went down 7,5%. It stands out that in 12 months there is a 18,2% more than people with a contract
indefinite and a 28,7% fewer people with temporary contracts.
The temporary employment rate fell 2,1 points remaining in the 18,4%, being for men of the 16,5% and for
women of 20,6%.
La ocupación aumentó en todos los sectores económicos respecto del trimestre anterior, siendo esta
subida del 18,1% under construction, 5,6% en industria, 32,8% en agricultura y 0,4% in services.
The number of unemployed people decreased 22.700 respecto al primer trimestre de 2023, being the rate of
variación trimestral del -11,2%. Disminuyó el paro más en hombres que en mujeres, being the rates
de variación trimestral -16,4% and -6,3%. La tasa de paro baja casi 2 puntos y se sitúa en el 15,3%,
siendo la de hombres un 13% y la de mujeres un 17,8%.
The number of households with an active member is 702.800, having the 78,5% of the same to all
your assets with employment and the 9,1% to all its unemployed assets, situación que mejora la del trimestre
anterior.
