05 Sea The number of passengers who used the ports of the Canary Islands decreases in January 2026

data of 2025 was 574.338 people. The Port of El Rosario presented a drop in 12.6 por
hundred, while the ports of La Luz and Las Palmas and the port of La Palma increased by 31%.
Regarding regular traffic, The ports of Los Cristianos and Santa Cruz de Tenerife were
those that had a greater movement of travelers. The first of them recorded the passage of 1 decade
3 travelers who used these infrastructures. Por su parte, the port with the greatest increase in
travelers was La Palma with an increase in 1,5% and the Port with the greatest drop was Arrecife with a 22,3%
less travelers.
The number of TEUS containers (the most standardized measure worldwide) who went through the
ports of the Canary Islands in January was a 18,3 percent lower than in the same month of 2025. In total
fueron 143.048 containers those that were accounted for by 175.181 January 2025.
The Port of La Luz and Las Palmas is the one with the highest volume of entry and exit of
containers. In the Canary Islands, 7 decade 10 containers that are moved do so from this facility.
Compared to the previous year, aumentó un 22,1 percent container movement in this
puerto.
Regarding vehicle traffic, During the month of January it decreased by 4,4% with respect to the same
month of the previous year. This year they were 166.690 the vehicles that used the State Ports in
Canarias, for the 174.410 that was in January 2025.
The data collected in this information refers exclusively to the eleven Ports of the
State that exists in the Canary Islands. These are the facilities of: Reef, The Rosary, lighter, La
Light and Las Palmas, Salinetas, Passion fruit, The Christians, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, San Sebastian
La Gomera, Santa Cruz de la Palma and La Estaca. There are other port facilities that depend on the
Government of the Canary Islands, as is the case of the Puerto de Las Nieves, Corralejo, Playa Blanca or Morro
Jable.
