By Instituto Canario de Estadística, (ISTAC), del Gobierno de Canarias The Canary Islands are in seventh position in the ranking of variations of this index (6,9%).
The greatest variations took place in Ceuta (10,3%), Cataluña (8,2%) and the Valencian Community
(7,8%). On the other side, The smallest variations occurred in Castilla y León (1,8%), Asturias
(2,2%) and Navarre (4,6%). Taking into account the evolution of sales by groups in the Canary Islands, is
subieron un 7,0% en alimentación y un 8,2% en el resto.

Por su parte, employment in Canarian retail trade has increased by 2,3% in the last twelve
meses, while at the national level it has increased 2,1%. En este concepto, Canarias (2,3%) this

variations took place in Catalonia (4,0%), Navarra (3,5%) and Ceuta (2,8%) while the
