31 Jan Las ventas al por menor en Canarias aumentaron un 6,5% on December 2024 with respect to the same month of 2023
By Instituto Canario de Estadística, (ISTAC), del Gobierno de Canarias anarias is in first position within the ranking of variations of this index (6,5%),
followed by Murcia (4,9%), Cataluña (4,7%) and Andalusia (3,9%). On the other side, the minors
variations occurred in Aragon (0,2%), Castile and León (0,5%) and Ceuta (0,5%). Taking into account the
evolution of sales by groups in the Canary Islands, these went up a 2,3% en alimentación y un 10,5% en
the rest.
Por su parte, employment in Canarian retail trade has increased by 3,7% in the last twelve
meses, while at the national level it has increased 1,7%. En este concepto, Canarias (3,7%) this
positioned in the first position among the group of autonomous communities and cities, followed
by the Balearic Islands (3,4%), Madrid (2,9%) and Andalusia (2,8%), while the lowest rates of variation
have occurred in La Rioja (-1,2%), Ceuta (-0,5%) and Asturias (-0,4%).
