26 Apr Las ventas al por menor en Canarias aumentaron un 1,7% en marzo de 2024 con respecto al mismo mes de 2023

second only to Cantabria (4,3%) and followed by Extremadura (1,3%). On the other side, the minors
variations occurred in Madrid (-7,0%), Baleares (-4,3%) and Aragon (-3,8%). Taking into account the
evolution of sales by groups in the Canary Islands, éstas subieron un 2,3% en alimentación y un 4,1% en
the rest.
Por su parte, employment in Canarian retail trade has increased by 2,5% in the last twelve
meses, while at the national level it has increased 2,2%. En este concepto, Canarias está posicionada
in fourth position among the group of autonomous communities and cities, surpassed by Madrid
(5,7%), Andalusia (3,3%) y Baleares (3,1%), while the lowest rates of variation have occurred
in La Rioja (-0,9%), Estremadura (-0,8%) and Galicia (0,0%).
