27 Jul Retail sales in the Canary Islands increased in June 2023 a 7,2% over the same month of 2022

superada por Baleares (14,4%), Madrid (11,7%) y Cataluña (8,4%). On the other side, the minors
variaciones se produjeron en Castilla y León (0,9%), Estremadura (1,8%) and Murcia (2,4%). Attending
a la evolución de las ventas por grupos en Canarias, subieron un 2,0% en alimentación y un 18,0% en
the rest.
Por su parte, employment in Canarian retail trade has increased by 2,8% in the last twelve
meses, while at the national level it has increased 2,0%. En este concepto, Canarias está posicionada
in fourth position among the group of autonomous communities and cities, superada por la
Comunidad Valenciana (3,8%), Baleares (3,6%) y Cataluña (3,4%), while the lower rates of
variation has occurred in Asturias (-1,3%), Ceuta (-0,8%) and Navarre (-0,4%).
