By Instituto Canario de Estadística, (ISTAC), del Gobierno de Canarias By sex and with respect to September 2024, Registered unemployment rose in men and women. Por
age groups, Unemployment figures increased for people under 35 years old, for the group
de 40 a 44 years and for people of 60 years or more. For the rest of the groups, unemployment figures
decreased.

Registered unemployment increased in the service sector and industry, and decreased in construction and
agriculture. The group of people without previous employment rose by 4,5%. The activity that most
contributed to the rise in unemployment this October was commerce, con 441 more unemployed people
that in September, although the hospitality industry also contributed, administrative activities and
auxiliary services, and health and social services activities. Por islas, the unemployment
registered went up in all of them, except in Gran Canaria.
